Grauel Printing Inks!

Grauel printing inks are worldwide known because of their high pigmentation and opacity. The printing inks are adjusted for offset, flexo, pad printing and silkscreen, and can be devided into 3 groups.

1. UV inks only dry under the influence of UV light. Besides pigments and binding agents the UV ink consists of photo initiators which start the polymerisation process beyond the influence of UV light. This is a chemical reaction which takes place within tenths of seconds.

A big advantage of UV inks is that this kind of ink does not dry within the printing head or at the rollers. That implies shorter change-over times, a stable printing process and a higher uptime for your machine. UV inks have a shelf life of 6 months.

2. ER inks. For a fast curing and a good adhesion thermosetting inks has to be subject of a heat treatment. The needed quantity of energy depends on the substrate. The maximum temperature is located between 110°C and 120° C. Plastics like e.g. PP, PVC, P, Glass, Steel and PE can be printed after a good pre-treatment also.

3. H&C printing inks (heatset – coldset) are inks which dry as a result of oxidation. The speediness of drying depends on the surrounding temperature and the humidity. H&C printing inks are heat resistant up to 120° Celsius.

Further, we offer you optimal service as for e.g. developing of special printing inks for a specific adjustment or to be able to do test printings.

New: ITX - Free UV inks

ITX, isopropyl thioxanthone, is used as a photo-initiator in UV printing nks. Leading companies (e.g. Uniliver, Nestle) decided not to use ITX anymore due to contamination hazards. Therefore new inks with alternative initiators were developed and have been tested in the field. After testing, a number of Grauel customers switched over to these new type of inks. For more information about the Grauel ITX-Free UV inks, please contact our office in Berlin. Ink Closing Valve

The Grauel automatic ink dosing system has recently been improved. Between the ink cartridge and ductor roller a closing valve against ink dripping is mounted. The device has been developed especially for combinations of high temperatures and high viscose printing inks. For more information, please contact our Berlin office or just leave a message on the Grauel website
